A true pumpkin pie story!
See our P.S. Below...

Once upon a time…  there lived a dance teacher in Long Beach who taught at Arthur Murrays.  He had a wonderful senior student Mabel Wilsey who lived in Belmont Shore. She was a wonderful lady and great student who was on our medal program. She did all of her solo school figures by the book while complaining about them!  She even said “burn the book!” She came in for her private lessons at least once a week and sometimes more.

She would bring these delicious pumpkin pies to her teacher who was nuts about them! Much better then an apple for the teacher!

All of the teachers used to work all day and go out dancing at night until the clubs closed at 2am.  Afterwards, he was so hungry and remembered the pumpkin pie Mabel brought him that he hid under the sofa in the main ballroom.  He had a key to the studio so he immediately went back.

He went to the back door and as he put the key in and started to open the door He heard a noise inside!  Could this be a burglar?  But he thought of his pumpkin pie!  He continued to open the door and stepped inside and could hear more noise and commotion on the other side of the ballroom. He switched on a light but could only see partially into the ballroom since the other side was covered with Luau decorations for a party.  He heard more noise!  Most people would run but he remembered the taste of the pumpkin pie!  He looked around and saw a big stick left over from decorations! He must have his pumpkin pie at all costs! So he picked up the stick and started to advance across the ballroom for his pumpkin pie!  It was after 2am in the morning and there he was walking across the ballroom with a big stick!

Suddenly a voice rang out!  “Gatyas! (You guessed it! It was me in the story!) What are you doing here?” I recognized the voice of Ken Coleman.  I answered: “I’ve come for my pumpkin pie!” He said to me: “If it's over here forget it!”  So I turned and threw down my stick and on the way out I noticed in one of the offices some ladies under garments. I guess Ken was using the studio for bedroom activities and not just teaching dancing!

The next day I went back and got my pumpkin pie!  Ken saw me and said: “I looked all over for that pumpkin pie and couldn’t find it! I was so mad!"

And everyone lived happily ever after……

P.S. Pumpkin People! How is being a Christian like being a pumpkin?
God sees us, picks us out of the dirt, cleans us off, takes the yucky material out of us by forgiving us, puts a smile on our faces and places a shining light within us for others to see. Jesus said: "Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16)
